1 October 2026: first release of the CIMnext product line
On 1 October 2026 we released the first steps of CIMnext, a new product line of work preparation software for the metal industry.
CIMnext turns 3D CAD models and 2D drawings into usable production data for sheet metal and fabrication work. When you open a model, the software automatically recognises welded constructions, assemblies, sheet metal parts, tubes and profiles, purchased parts and production features. Engineers, work preparers and estimators no longer have to search for or interpret this information by hand.
The platform is modular. Every module works on the same product data and digital structure, so you start with what you need today and add modules later. This first release contains two modules:
- CIMview: CAD viewer with automatic part type recognition (free)
- CIMparts: work preparation, with export to your existing Excel calculations
Further modules for unfolding (CIMunfold), routing (CIMroute), calculation and quotation (CIMcalc, CIMquote), nesting (CIMnest) and optimisation (CIMoptimize) will follow step by step.
The software runs locally on Windows and uses cloud-based licensing, which makes floating licences possible. Licences can also be activated fully offline, and you decide whether customer data is stored locally, on your network or in the cloud.
The base module, CIMview, is free to use: no trial period, no watermarks and no obligations. It displays 3D assemblies and 2D/3D parts, offers sections, exploded views and accurate measuring, and reads STEP, DXF and DWG files. CIMparts can be tried free of charge for 14 days.
The result is a shorter lead time from inquiry to quote and production, with fewer manual errors.
